What is Boost Shield device protection?

Boost Shield is a replacement service in the case that you lose your phone, have it stolen, or accidentally damage it.

How much does device protection cost?

The device protection add-on is $7 per month.

How much is the deductible?

Deductibles range from $20 to $175, depending on your phone. Your deductible is determined at the time of purchase and is based on market price of the make and model of your phone at purchase. Once you're enrolled, your deductible does not change, even if the store price of your phone changes. All costs, charges, and fees are subject to applicable taxes.

What does device protection cover?

The following phone components are covered by device protection:

  • One phone per wireless number
  • One standard battery (as part of phone loss)
  • One standard cigarette lighter adapter (if included in the original phone packaging)
  • One standard leather case (if included in the original phone packaging)
  • One standard charger
  • One standard headphone (if included in the original phone packaging)
  • One standard SIM card

Boost partners with Likewize Device Protection to offer you this service.

What security features are included with this program?

McAfee® Mobile Security guards your smartphone against viruses, malware, phishing, and other mobile threats. It also allows you to locate, lock, and wipe your personal data from a lost or stolen phone, and provides 2GB of backup for your contacts, photos and videos.

Will McAfee® Mobile Security work on my phone?

McAfee Mobile Security works on both Android and iOS devices, but the features vary across each operating system. For system requirements click here.

What if I already use McAfee on my phone?

In order to get the premium version that is included with your Boost Shield phone protection, you must first un-install the McAfee app currently running on your phone.

I'm having problems using the features within my McAfee Mobile Security app. What should I do?

If you are currently enrolled in the Boost Shield program, you can request support here.

When is my device protection effective?

Your device protection will be effective from the date you opt into the program and provide payment for the premium charge.

How do I file a claim?

Visit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to file a claim with Likewize Device Protection (See Provider Information in brochure). You may also call 844-534-3099 from 6 a.m. –11 p.m. CT, 7 days a week.

You should be the primary account holder on the account and report the claim within 30 days of the incident, unless otherwise required by state law.

If the approved claim involves a damaged or malfunctioning phone, you will be provided with detailed information on how to return the phone. If the phone is not returned within 10 days after receiving your replacement, you will be charged an unrecovered equipment fee up to $200.

How long does it take to get a replacement phone once I file a claim?

Once your claim is approved, you have provided any necessary documentation, and have paid your deductible, your replacement phone will be shipped to an address of your choice. If the claim is approved, you have provided the necessary documents, and you have paid your deductible by 11 p.m. CT Monday through Friday and Saturday 7:30 p.m. CT, you may receive your device the next business day.

What happens to my device protection if my service is interrupted?

Your device protection will be placed on a hold until your account is either paid fully or cancelled. Device protection will not take effect again until the next fully paid billing cycle.

How do I cancel my device protection?

You may cancel your device protection at any time, but please note the enrollment eligibility to be able to add protection again. Give us a call at 833-50-BOOST (833-502-6678) for assistance.

Other Restrictions

You must be on a eligible plan. If you change phone plans to an ineligible one, you forfeit your device protection. If you switch back to an eligible plan with the same device, you must meet the following criteria to add protection:

  • If it's been less than 30 days since the phone was activated for the first time, phone insurance can be added.
  • If it's been more than 30 days since the phone was activated for the first time, phone insurance cannot be added.
  • If the phone was lost, stolen, or damaged while on an ineligible plan, a claim will be denied.
