Device Protection FAQs

What is Boost Protect device protection?

Boost Protect is a comprehensive device protection program that combines a service contract and an insurance policy to protect your phone in case you lose it, have it stolen, or accidently damage it.

How much does Boost Protect device protection cost?

That depends on the original price of your phone. Costs are anywhere from $2.75 to $18 per month.

How much is the deductible?

Repair deductibles are $29 or $99 depending on the damage. Replacement deductibles for loss and theft range from $40 to $349, depending on your phone. Your deductible is determined at the time of purchase and is based on market price of the make and model of your phone. Once you’re enrolled, your deductible does not change even if the store price of your phone changes. All costs, charges, and fees are subject to applicable taxes.

Who is device protection through?

Boost partners with Likewize Device Protection to offer you this service.

What security features are included with this program?

Lookout® Premium mobile security guards your phone against infectious websites, wifi threat detection, out-of-date software, and password breaches. If lost or stolen, Lookout can also locate your phone and sound an alarm, send out an email with your phone’s last location, and lock your phone while wiping your personal information*.

* Not all features are available for all operating systems and devices.

Do I have to purchase Boost Protect to activate wireless service or purchase a phone?

No. The Boost Protect program is optional and not required to activate your service or purchase a device.

Do I have to purchase both the service contract and the insurance policy portion of Boost Protect?

You'll get the most coverage if you purchase both, but you can also purchase accidental damage and malfunction only (service contract) or loss and theft only (insurance policy). To see the pricing for these plans, visit myphoneguardian.com/boostmobile. Please call Boost Customer Care to purchase the individual plans.

When is my device protection effective?

Your device protection will be effective from the date you opt into the program and provide payment for the monthly charge.

How do I file a claim?

Visit myphoneguardian.com/boostmobile 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to file a claim with Likewize Device Protection (See Provider Information in brochure). You may also call 844-534-3099 from 6 a.m. –10 p.m. CT, 7 days a week.

You should be the primary account holder on the account and report a lost or stolen claim within 60 days of the loss, unless otherwise required by state law.

If you receive a replacement for an approved damage or malfunction claim, you will be provided with detailed information on how to return the damaged phone. If the phone is not returned within 10 days after receiving your replacement, you will be charged an unrecovered equipment fee up to the MSRP of your phone at enrollment.

How long does it take to get a repair or replacement phone once I file a claim?

Once your claim is approved, you have provided any necessary documentation, and have paid your deductible, you will be provided with convenient repair options based on your phone, location and the type of damage. Repairs can be completed as soon as the next business day. If your phone was lost, stolen or unrepairable,  a replacement phone will be shipped to an address of your choice. Replacement phones are shipped to arrive on the 2nd business day.

What happens to my device protection if my service is interrupted?

Your device protection will be placed on a hold until your account is either paid fully or canceled. Device protection will not take effect again until the next fully paid billing cycle.

How do I cancel my device protection?

You may cancel your device protection at any time, but please note the enrollment eligibility to be able to add protection again. Give us a call at 833-50-BOOST (833-502-6678) for assistance.

Other Restrictions

You must be on an eligible plan. If you change phone plans to an ineligible one, you forfeit your device protection. If you switch back to an eligible plan with the same device, you must meet the following criteria to add protection:

  • If it's been less than 30 days since the phone was activated for the first time, device protection can be added.

  • If it's been more than 30 days since the phone was activated for the first time, device cannot be added.

  • If the phone was lost, stolen, or damaged while on an ineligible plan, a claim will be denied.

Is there anything else I should know about device protection?

Yes. You are not required to purchase Boost Protect to activate wireless service. Boost Protect is a combination of an Insurance Policy and a Service Contract. The Insurance Policy covers loss and theft. The Service Contract covers Accidental Damage from Handling and Mechanical and Electrical Failure. You may also purchase these options separately. The insurance policy coverage may provide a duplicate of other sources of coverage. For more details, visit myphoneguardian.com/boostmobile.
