Finish Activating Your Android Device

CarrierApp Boost app logo is now Boost Config Boost app logo

If you're bringing your own device to Boost Mobile, there are a few extra settings you’ll need to update to get the most out of your service. Updating your Access Point Name (APN) settings ensures you’re able to use data to connect to the internet and send/receive MMS messages.

Updating Your APN Settings Using Boost Config

The fastest and easiest way to update your APN settings is by using the Boost Config app. Boost Config will run in the background and won’t be displayed in your app menu, but it’ll automatically detect your SIM card and configure your phone’s APN settings for you.

Step 1. Go to the Google Play Store and install Boost Config Boost app logo (formerly CarrierApp Boost app logo).

Step 2. Power off your phone. Remove and reinsert your SIM card.

Step 3. Restart your phone.

Step 4. Boost Config will update your APN settings for you.

Notes:

  • Reset your network settings.
Settings > System > Advanced > Reset Options > Reset Network Settings

  • Your Android device will need to be updated to Android 7 or newer for Boost Config to work.
  • Boost Config will only update your APN settings when you've inserted your Boost Mobile SIM card – installing the app will not affect your existing APN settings if you're still using service from your current carrier while waiting for your transfer/port to complete.

  • Uninstalling the app after you've updated your APN settings will not undo your changes.
