Can I get the discount benefit of the $5 Auto Re-BoostSM on Family Plans?

Effective 8/22/17, the $5 Auto Re-Boost discount will no longer be available to new customers. Customers enrolled in Auto Re-Boost prior to 8/22/17 will continue to receive the discount so long as their account remains active and in good standing, and they do not un-enroll from Auto Re-Boost or change plans.

The $5 Auto Re-Boost discount applies only to the Primary account holder of the Family Plan who registers for Auto Re-BoostSM prior to 8/22/17. The discount will not apply to any Secondary lines, and will take effect on the next monthly payment.

What happens if someone leaves the family?

It depends on who leaves:

If the Primary account holder leaves, the Family account will remain intact until the next month’s payment date. The service of all the Secondary lines will continue uninterrupted until the next monthly payment due date for the family. At that time a Secondary line may want to either takeover as the Primary line for the family and assume the payment responsibility for all lines, or make a plan change to a Single Line Plan. Either way, payment on the plan will be required by each Secondary subscriber in order for service to continue the next month.

If a Secondary account holder leaves, we will automatically recalculate the total monthly amount due by the Primary account holder on the next monthly payment date. Since the Family Plan discount is based on the total number of lines in your family, the Primary line will see a decrease in the Family Plan discount amount. We will adjust the next monthly payment amount to reflect the total monthly cost of the lines still in your family. Unused service will not be credited back to the Primary line in this event. Check here for Single Line plan options.

Can someone make me be part of a Family Plan without my permission?

Your acceptance is required before you join a Family Plan, unless the Primary account holder has your account PIN. We would encourage you not to give this information out unless it's to a trusted family or friend who will manage your account and pay for your services once you are a part of the Family. Remember, you can change your account PIN at any time in My Account.

(top)

Do all people joining a Family Plan need to join at the same time?

No. You can start or join a Family Plan at any time. We will take care of prorating the monthly recurring charge based on the date of the action so that the Primary account holder is not paying for a full month for members that are part of the family for only a partial month.

Am I going to get a credit for payments I already made into my Single Line Monthly Plan when I switch to a Family Plan? And how does it work?

It varies slightly based on each customer’s situation but this credit only applies to existing Boost customers who are joining an existing Family Plan group. If you join a Family Plan as a Secondary line, a prorated credit will be applied to the Primary’s account balance for the unused portion of your Single Line service.

An existing Boost Single Line customer who is joining a Family Plan as a Secondary line (not assuming the payment responsibility) AND has already paid for the current month, you will receive a prorated credit of unused service based on the amount you paid on your last MRC for the days remaining until the Primary line’s next monthly payment date. This will be applied to Primary line’s account balance. We will align your monthly payment date to match the monthly payment date of the Primary line at this time.

(top)

I am the Primary account holder, can I change my plan?

Yes, however when the Primary account holder changes their price plan, it may impact other lines in the Family. Any changes to a family plan will be effective on the following month’s payment cycle date. When scheduling a future-dated price plan change for you, a Secondary line, or your entire family, be sure to select a plan that is compatible with Primary line.

(top)

Can anyone in the family get an optional add on service, and who pays?

The Primary line is responsible for paying for additional monthly recurring services for all lines in the family group including monthly recurring services purchased by individual Secondary lines. One-time, non-recurring purchases are to be paid directly by the individual adding them to his/her account, and will not roll up to the Primary account holder. None of these services are prorated if they are added mid-month.

(top)

Can I add more high-speed data to my $35/mo. plan if 3GB isn’t enough?

Yes! For an additional $5 a month you can get an extra 1GB of high-speed data or an additional $10 a month, you will get you an extra 3GB of high-speed data. Anyone can add the data packs to their line but the Primary account holder is responsible for paying as part of the overall monthly payment.

(top)

Is data shared on a Family Plan?

No. Each individual line uses their own allotment of high-speed data that comes with their plan.

(top)

Is hotspot included in Family Plans?

  • Share your phone’s hotspot with other users;
  • Connect a device (such as a laptop or tablet) to the Internet either via Wi-Fi, or a physical connection (such as a USB cable), or an app that enables mobile hotspot service without the purchase of a hotspot plan (i.e., “tethering”);
