What is included in the $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on?

  • Unlimited calling to landlines and mobile phones in Mexico and Canada (excludes Northern Territories – 867).
  • Unlimited calling to landlines and mobile phones in the U.S. and Mexico while roaming in Mexico
  • Unlimited texting to Mexico and Canada plus unlimited international texting to 200+ destinations (SMS only)
  • Unlimited texting to the U.S. and Mexico while roaming in Mexico (SMS only)
  • Up to 8GB of Data when in Mexico (varies by price plan)

How do I sign up for the $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on?

The $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on is available only for any eligible Boost Monthly plan. If you are a Boost monthly plan customer, you can sign up for the add-on or upgrade your plan via My Account or through your local authorized dealer.

REMEMBER, adding the add-on will increase the TOTAL cost of your monthly payment amount (monthly plan cost + add-on cost). Also, this is a recurring plan add-on; it will remain attached to your monthly plan and account until you remove it.

How and when do I need to pay for the add-on?

The $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on is a recurring monthly plan add-on, with the add-on cost being added to the total amount due for your monthly plan services. The new total plan cost must be paid at the same time you pay for your monthly plan services and is due on your existing monthly payment due date. If your account balance cannot cover both the cost of your monthly plan services AND the $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on (or any other recurring plan add-ons, if any), by your monthly payment due date, all of your services will be interrupted until sufficient funds to cover the total costs of your plan cost and additional services, if any, are added to your Account.

Will the included countries and destinations with the $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on change?

The costs for international calling rates change often and may be subject to factors beyond our control, including market demand and conditions. Although Boost has no immediate plans to change the included countries and destinations currently offered with its $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on, we reserve the right to change the features and rates, including available countries, international cities and per minute rates, without prior notice. Therefore, it is important that you please visit boostmobile.com often and regularly for any changes, including but not limited to, included countries, international cities and the latest rates and fees.

If I have not subscribed to an international calling add-on, can I still make international calls and send international text messages?

Yes. You will be charged accordingly on a per-minute and per-message basis. Check International Rates often for the latest details and rates for international calls.

What is Mexico Roaming?

When you subscribe to the $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on, you are able to use services while roaming in Mexico including receiving calls, making calls to destinations in Mexico and back to the U.S., sending text messages (SMS only) to the U.S. and Mexico and using the Internet.

What countries can I call or text while roaming in Mexico?

With the $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on, you can make calls to the U.S. and to destinations in Mexico. You can receive SMS messages and send SMS messages to the U.S. and Mexico at no additional charge.

What do I have to dial to call out from Mexico back to the U.S.?

To call someone in the U.S. while you are roaming in Mexico dial +1 (XXX) XXX-XXXX.

How do I call or text a mobile number or landline in Mexico?

Effective August 3, 2020 to dial a mobile or landline number in Mexico, you no longer need to put a “1” after the Mexico country code “52.” For example: 011+52+10-digit number. If a “1” is included, your call will not be completed. Update your contacts by removing the “1” after the “52” country code.

If someone is on a Mexico-based landline or mobile phone, how do they call my Boost phone?

An individual calling from a Mexico-based landline/mobile phone can call your Boost phone by dialing 001 (XXX) XXX-XXXX, regardless if you are in Mexico or the U.S.

If I am in a U.S./Mexico border city and I have the $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on, will my device pick up both the Boost and Telefonica networks?

Your phone will try to operate on the network with the best signal and in some areas very close to the border it is possible that the handset will connect to the network in Mexico while you are in the U.S. The device will indicate on the home screen that it is on the Movistar network if this occurs. It is advised that when you are in the U.S. and this occurs that you modify your settings to ensure you are operating on the preferred network.

Can I call Emergency Services in Mexico if I have the $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on?

Yes, as long as you have purchased the $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on, you can call local Mexico Emergency Services (066) while traveling in Mexico. You will receive emergency service in Spanish at your Mexico location. Emergency service calls will not incur any access fee or roaming charges.

What happens if I use all of my Mexico Roaming data in my $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on?

If you use your data allotment you will no longer be able access the Internet. Even if you run out of data during a visit to Mexico, you will still be able to make calls and send and receive text messages.

What happens if I travel outside the U.S. or Mexico?

When traveling outside of the U.S. or Mexico coverage area, your wireless capabilities will be limited to Wi-Fi service only.

Important facts related to the $5 Todo Mexico PLUS add-on:

  • Primary usage must occur in the United States. Calls, texts or data roaming while in Mexico cannot exceed 50% of total usage or service may be terminated.
  • Mexico roaming coverage and service is not available everywhere.
  • Mexico roaming is only available on compatible LTE/GSM devices.
  • Data speeds are dependent on the Telefonica data network.
