Boost Secure Connect Terms & Conditions

Your use of the Boost Secure Connect app is subject to your acceptance of the Terms & Conditions as stated below and the Boost Mobile Privacy Policy.

 

To help protect your data from online threats and enhance your data usage privacy, Boost has provided the Secure Connect service. Secure Connect uses DNS based threat protection with encryption to help protect your data usage and privacy for all network traffic, Wi-Fi and cellular. When connected to a Wi-Fi network the service establishes a secure proxy within your device to encrypt all unsecured web and application data traffic as it travels over Wi-Fi networks you use.

 

Security and Privacy Disclaimer: Boost Secure Connect is committed to helping you safeguard your data usage with cutting-edge security technologies and proactive threat detection. While this service significantly enhances your mobile data privacy and security, it is essential to understand that no security solution is 100% foolproof. Cybercriminals are constantly developing new tactics, and the mobile security landscape constantly evolves. This service does not guarantee complete security for your data since vulnerabilities may still exist and could be exploited.

 

Terms and Conditions

As a reminder, your use of Secure Connect is governed by your carrier's General Terms and Conditions, which are part of your Service Agreement. Your Service Agreement contains a mandatory arbitration provision and class action waiver, providing that (except for matters properly brought to small claims court) any claim, controversy, or dispute of any kind between you and your carrier must be resolved by final and binding arbitration on an individual and not a class-wide or consolidated basis.

 

Your carrier provides Secure Connect on an "as-is" basis with no warranties and makes no representations of any kind, express or implied, with respect to Secure Connect. Your carrier grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Secure Connect for your own individual use. You may not sell, resell, transfer, copy, translate, publish, create derivative works of, make any commercial use of, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software. This license may be revoked at any time.

 

Use of Secure Connect may result in additional data charges. Secure Connect will transmit information via a Wi-Fi connection, unless it is unable to do so within 7 days. After 7 days, Secure Connect may transmit information via your device's wireless data connection, which may generate additional data usage charges, as detailed in your Service Agreement.

 

SMS and MMS specific Terms and Conditions: Message and data rates may apply for any messages that we send to you, or you send to us. You will receive 1 SMS message per phone number verification attempt made through the iOS version of the Boost Secure Connect App. Sign In to your Boost account or contact Boost for more information about your text plan or data plan.

 

What information does Secure Connect access or collect and why?

 

Operational and Statistical Data we may collect and store when it is required to operate the service:

  • Application ID - an anonymous ID assigned to the Application at installation.
  • Account Information - Carrier billing SubscriberID and/or Phone Number may be used to establish and maintain the subscription status for this service.
  • Device Data - limited to the OS and version, we do not collect any unique device identifiers that can be traced back to you.
  • Connection Data - network data usage (bytes transferred) for the sole purpose of internal operational and performance monitoring.
  • Anonymous Aggregate Usage Statistics Data - basic statistical information for customer support and service quality maintenance, this strictly excludes all sensitive activity logs or personally identifiable information.
  • Crash Logs - we use crash log information regarding your device’s use of the Application for troubleshooting and to improve our Application. Crash logs do not contain your IP addresses or other personal information.
  • Problem Reports - we require your name and email address when you report a problem through the app. When you provide feedback, you can choose whether to share logs from the app. Logs can include information about your device, domains you have visited, Wi-Fi network SSID, and IP addresses. We use this information for troubleshooting and to improve our Application. Your name, email address and these logs, if you share them with us, will be deleted 90 days from the date of collection.

Permissions we may request to enable the service:

  • VPN Profile and/or Service - so we may process the data from your device to provide the services. Depending on which features you have enabled in the Application this may include DNS and Data encryption, and transmission of that encrypted data, to our secure network to provide you data privacy and protection services.
  • Notifications - so we may communicate to you through the Application for security alerts and subscription-based functions only.
  • Phone State (Android only) - so we may enable account authentication and subscription status for this service. Your phone # is never shared with 3rd parties.
  • Location (Android only) - so we may detect the name (SSID) of Wi-Fi networks, which allows the app to automatically protect the specific Wi-Fi networks chosen by you and to allow you to control which Wi-Fi networks you are warned about. No actual location information is collected or shared outside of the app on your device.

Third Party Data Sharing

This app does not sell your personal information to third parties.
